: (1) A Tobacco Control and Regulation Committee will be constituted with the following members for the task of determining the policy regarding the control and regulation of tobacco products:-
(a) Secretary, Ministry of Health and Population – Chairman (b) Director, National Health Education Information and Communication Center – Vice President
(c) One member nominated by the Ministry from among the persons of government health institutions involved in the prevention or treatment of cancer, lung or heart related diseases. (d) Two members nominated by the Ministry, including one woman, from among those who have worked in non-governmental organizations and private sector health organizations established for the purpose of controlling smoking and tobacco consumption. (e) One member nominated by the Ministry from among the people who have worked in the social sector (f) Law Officer, Ministry of Health and Population – Member – Secretary
(2) The term of office of the nominated members according to sub-section (1) will be two years.
(3) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section (1), a nominated member may be removed from office on the prescribed grounds.
(4) The secretariat of the committee will be done by the ministry.
(5) The procedure for the meeting of the committee shall be as determined by the committee itself.
(6) If necessary, the committee may invite experts in the relevant field to the meeting of the committee.
